    Chair and Co-Chair Applications
  • The Ohio ENA is looking to refresh our Special Interest Groups (SIGs) in 2026.

    We are seeking eager OENA members with positive can do attitudes and great ideas to increase involvoment in our professional organization. Chairs and Co-chairs will participate in mentoring new team members.

    This is a great way to become more involved in and make a difference in OENA.

    We have SIG meetings every other month beginning in March on the third Friday from 1130-1230. All meetings are virtual to make involvement easier. 

    If selected to serve as chair/co-chair, duties include:

    • attending SIG meetings and provide updates on projects assigned from OENA president.
    • attending OENA Board and Member meetings to provide updates. 
    • attending SIG planning and project subteam meetings as needed or indicated.
    • collaborating with other SIGs and assigned OENA Board of Director. 
    • mentoring new members interested in professional growth and development.

    All OENA Board and Member-at-large meetings and SIG meetings are on Friday unless noted elsewhere

    • February 20th  from 0900-1400 (Virtual only)
    • April 17th from 0900-1400 (Hybrid in-person & Virtual)
    • June  19th from 0900-1400 (Hybrid in-person & Virtual 
    • August 21st from 0900-1400 (Hybrid in-person & Virtual)
    • October 16th from 0900-1400 (Hybrid in person & Virtual)
    • December 18th from 0900-1400 (Virtual only) 

    In person meetings are located at Quest Conference Center in Worthington, Ohio

  • Duties and charges as listed for Government Affairs includes but not limited to:

    • monitoring, trending and reporting legislation affecting emergency nursing.
    • maintain communication with ENA Government Affaris Committees.
    • mentoring members with drafting letters to legislation pertinent to advocacy initiatives.
    • provide updates to OENA President and Social Media SIG for posting to members-at-large.
  • Duties and charges as listed for Membership recruitment includes but not limited to: 

    • working with OENA President to provide new member communication, welcome and integration into OENA.
    • adhere to membership guidelines with communication.
    • review and understand ENA guidelines as posted on ENA website.
    • creation of annual goals.
    • participation in ENA Membership updates, report out to OENA. 
    • collaborate with Social Media SIG, and treasurer as indicated.
  • Duties and charges as listed for Pediatric (ENPC) and Trauma (TNCC) roles include but not limited to:

    • serve as a resource for members-at-large, and hospital-based programs.
    • mentor instructors across the state and those interested in professional development opportuntites.
    • assist with completion of annual conflict of interest forms.
    • assist with course edition changes.
    • provide course updates to members-at-large.
    • participate in ENA updates and provide information back to OENA Board of Directors and Social Media SIG.
  • Duties and charges as listed for General Assembly chair includes but not limited to: 

    • reporting the number of seats to the OENA board of Directors.
    • overseeing the delegate selection process in accordance to ENA General Assembly Handbooks.
    • presenting a slate of candidates.
    • notifying slate of candidates.
    • coordinating GA luncheon/dinner.
    • working with treasurer for budgeting needs.
    • mentoring members interested in professional development.
  • Duties and charges as listed for Nominations, Elections and Leadership development include but not limited to:

    • alligning OENA election process with ENA process.
    • mentoring interested candidates with leadership development.
    • assisting with providing a well-rounded slate of candidates.
    • ensuring a secure election occurs within the timeline set by ENA Headquarter offices.
    • providing results to OENA Board.
    • mentoring and succession planning to strengthen the state council and board of directors.
  • Duties and charges as listed for Education projects include but not limited to:

    • allignment with ENA headquarter requirements for annual offerings.
    • work closely with Pediatric (ENPC) and Trauma (TNCC) chairs. 
    • provide opportunitites to advance emergency nurse knowledge within the state and midwest by collaborating with surrounding states.
    • communicate clearly to treasurer activities with anticipated monitary needs by creating a budget.
    • supporting education initiatives recognized by other SIGs.
    • participate in ENA CE process &/or delegate to qualfied individuals as outlined by ENA headquarter offices.
  • Duties and charges for Social Media incldues but not limited to:

    • collaborating with OENA President and communicating to members-at-large meetings, education events, updates in a timely manner.
    • coordination with education to announce upcoming offerings.
    • forwarding social media requests to OENA President for comment or delegating out to a subject matter expert.
    • adherence to ENA Media guidelines.
    • maintain familiarity with platforms, copyright and intellectual property laws.
    • reviewing and ensuring platforms posts, comments or viewpoints support the values of ENA.
